How do I send a fax by e-mail?

In order to send a fax by e-mail you will first need to acquire a fax line. Once you know your fax line number, you can use it to send a document by sending an e-mail to: @myowntelco.net.

For example, if your fax phone number is 514-666-5454 and that you need to send a document to 514111222, then you may send it by doing so:

Set the e-mail recipient to: 5146665454@myowntelco.net
Set the e-mail subject to the destination fax number, without its country code: 5141112222
Put in the e-mail body a short paragraph that will appear on the cover page
Attach to the e-mail the document that you want to send as a PDF

Do you support faxes and T.38 protocol?

Yes. Fax machines are supported through the T.38 fax protocol which is implemented in all standard fax machines. If you owe a fax machine and would like to use it on our network, then you will need an ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor) for your Fax machine to connect to. The ATA will in turn need to be connected to your Internet router or network switch using a standard network cable.
